Leaving factory tow hook on during hitch install a bad idea?

I just installed Reese 44548(same as hidden hitch and draw-tite) hitch receiver on my 06. During the install I decided to put the factory tow hook back on the drivers side, mounted right on top of the hitch receiver in the same holes that I removed it from. I am by no means an expert, so I was wondering if there is a reason that this may be a bad idea. From what I've seen it isn't done often, so I wanted to make sure. If I wasn't clear on what exactly I did please let me know and I'll elaborate or post pictures. Thanks for the help.

I can't imagine it would be an issue as long as the bolts your using are long enough.

Thanks, I had to get a tire patched today and asked the mechanic there as well, he didn't see an issue with it either.
