LED backup lights results

When someone finds LED reverse lights, marker lights, etc. that are truly brighter than stock with decent spread, please post.

And please post a pic from 45 degrees off to the side to show the spread. As mentioned previously, backup lights are also useful to see what is around you if you're turning... and for other drivers to see you in lots as you back out of parking spaces.

One advantage you have with the backup/reverse light housing is that it has a reflector. The radial arrangement will mimick an incandescent lamp pretty well. I did this mod awhile back...I used: "iJDMTOY 360-Degree Shine 28-SMD 1210 T10 LED Wedge".

Very pleased with the result. Much better lighting for the Backup Camera too.

Do you have comparison pictures by any chance? I was tempted to try some out but they are bit pricey to buy on a whim.

Also, I just noticed that this thread is about brighter LED reverse lights, not just brighter ones in general, don't I look like a fool with my post above

tired of searching and finding nothing but 3rd and 4th gen results...

i'd like a little more light from the back when in reverse. apparently i drive in reverse a lot more than i thought i did, for whatever reason. seems like replacement bulbs don't really do much...is that correct? are there bulbs that throw out more usable light that OEMs or would I be looking at auxiliary lights?

I've had VLed 921's in 5K in my previous car (2010 Acura TL) and although they looked bright looking at the taillight, it really wasn't that bright from inside the car, either looking out the window or looking through my back up camera. It did, however, look very nice, which is ultimately what I was going for.

I tried 4 or 5 different LED's and found these gave the best results.

I ordered this 921. You can't go wrong with Philips. :snacker:

I installed these yesterday and very pleased how much light output they produce. Although the top image shows a blue hue, it's more of a pure white in person.

Will get another image that will shine onto the ground.

What's the result on the Philips? Do they actually illuminate the road better (more usable light)? Or just color change?

anyone do the 921 to 886 mod? saw a thread on tacomaworld about it, my precision LED reverse lights look nice and white but otherwise are no different than stock. these wouldn't be whiter but should be significantly brighter
