LED Bulbs for Rear Back up light?

Has anyone put in a good set of LED bulbs and seen noticeable results in light output out of their reverse lights? Drive a 2007 so have the newer housing, and I'm not interested in retrofitting any aftermarket housing or separate light source, as I don't need anything crazy bright. The price is right at $40 or so for a quality LED bulb pair, and if I could get a bit more light, I'd indulge.

Have done full interior LED Swap and HID for front lights...LOVE it. My hobbies have me up before and after the sun rises/sets so I prioritize good light output. 20% tint doesn't help either when trying to back out of a dark place at night.

I have some 5W LEDs that I got from [MENTION=67365]Whitebeauty[/MENTION] but he sells 9W now. They're a pretty big improvement

Forget the leds for reverse lights, I use 15w hid kit there and it was brighter.

Shiiit...I've got an 04 with the early style, non LED housings. I swapped in some LED bulbs from Amazon. I don't know if they fit your 06+ housing or not, but for the price (under $10 for the pair IIRC) it was a vast improvement over the stock incandescent bulbs, and as you requested not too bright. Plug and play, T10 bulb I believe.

Here you guys go, it's a old pic but everything still work. Tho it cost about 70 off eBay for the kit, it's brighter for me since I have dark tinted Windows.

Careful with the amazon LED's I ordered some with poor results. I am going to get more at a higher price point. In hopes of a brighter light with better quality

THIS. Did the exact same thing with a single dually and just made a trailer wired it to the trailer plug. Works great!

Ordered a pair from VLEDs. Definitely a notable difference in visibility and brightness. I do want to hook up a light bar eventually though and blind any son of a ***** tailgating me.

same way i did it. i also have a 4 pin harness on mine. i went with dot lights so i didnt have to take them off for inspection. stupid va laws

Got one that's even more powerful now... 11w... Alot of new things have come out that are mad wicked bright...

How did you do the hid kit for the reverse lights? What did you connect the ballast to?
