LED/Clear 3rd brake light!!!!!!!!!

They are on ebay right now for about $55.99 with shipping included. They have the smoked, clear and red ones. All are LED. I just picked up a clear one for my truck so it could match my brake lights.

Very interesting. I didn't even know they made those.

I wonder if these LED 3rd brake lights combined with LED tail lights would throw codes like they have in the past.

If I get the LED tail lights I'll probably need to pick up one of these to complete the look.

beware a LED bulb in that location

Others have reported trouble when using an LED in the third brake light location.

Let us know if you can make those work.

I typed in "toyota 4runner 1999 LED" and came up with these. Ron, what kind of problems have you heard of with people running things like this?

When you have LED tails and a LED 3rd brake light it normally sets off the ABS I think.

All of the pictures of them installed look exactly the same. If someone buys these post of pictures please.

I guess if the cops aren't bothering you now, just spray it and save a good bit of money.

I was thinking about this today and concluded that these probably have resistors built in and are DOT approved so they should be fine to use with LED tail lights.

I'm highly considering buying the smoked one. I figured it won't look that bad since I have the spoiler and I might be getting the smoke LED tails for Christmas.

I had the red one of these but it faded into orange nastiness.. chose to go back to the original OEM brake lamp with an LED board inside

did you swap the boards or make your own LED board to fit in the OEM housing?

LED Reverse lights

I put in LED reverse lights and it makes a world of difference.
