LED dash bulbs + cluster cleaning = Jacked up tach ...Help?

So I decided to put in some LEDs...easy job. Then, I said, I might as well clean out the ton of dust in the cluster itself, polish the lens, etc... Ive done this before, easy job as well. Well, while I'm cleaning, not paying attention to my microfiber towel, I snagged the tip of the tach needle and pulled it down and out over the needle stop. I re positioned it easy enough, nothing felt damaged but now it wont read rpms until engine speed hits 1000-1100 and it stays a pretty consistent 1000 or so low of true rpms. I know I jacked something up but is there a fix other than a new cluster? Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly from the last time I took one apart (don't ask) it's spring loaded. By over-extending then needle, you might have bent the spring or even rotated the needle so far that it doesn't actually have enough signal input to rotate the needle. You could try turning the needle past 0 about 1000 RPM's worth to see if it evens out... but do so at your own risk. Most likely it's toast.

However, there's different kinds of clusters based off if you have a mechanical odometer, digital, etc. so they might be a little different.
