LED Fog Light Mod

After some time driving around with just LED bulbs in my ‘05 SR5 4Runner fog lights, I decided to take out the fog light assembly and mount my own LED lights I purchased on amazon. Light output is WAY better than what the factory was giving me. Haven’t had a chance to take pictures at night for light output but will tonight and post them.

Let me know what y’all think.

Second picture is with all lights I had already previously mounted

Dang looks good, looking forward to the night pics. Did you end up just tapping into the factory wiring or running it off an independent switch ?

Thanks man!
Yeah, I just bought two male crimp connectors and plugged them right into the factory wiring harness, so they turn on with my factory fog light switch just as I would the original fogs.

Got some night shots with light output.
Pretty happy with the outcome and WAY better than stock, even with LED bulbs

That looks great! How about including some links to the products you bought and a short little write up if you had to do anything to fit them?

Thanks!

Alright. So here is the product used for the fog lights. Super cheap and good buy on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Driv...+light+bar&dpPl=1&dpID=51r1mjWIZQL&ref=plSrch

I would HIGHLY recommend getting a clear silicone sealant and sealing the edges around the glass on those fogs lights to make sure no condensation gets inside of them. Had an issue with it myself, just took the lights apart and sealed them myself and haven’t had an issue since.

As for the mounting of them it’s super easy. Just had to take off the original fog light and DRL housing (three bolts behind the bumper) and separate them.

After that was done I just used the mounting hardware that came with the lights to bolt into the bumper itself. The mounting job isn’t the most professional but honestly it doesn’t matter to me because they work in the end and not everyone is going to get a factory look when completely taking out the original housings.

Once the fog lights were mounted, I just placed the DRL housing back and bolted it back in with the original screw behind the bumper.

The pics aren’t the best but it’s what I could get as of right now. I’ll post with the connections that I used to get them powered to the original fog light switch when I get some more time.
