LED For Turn Signal, Will It Work?

Sometimes there is a problem with LED blinkers, due to reduced resistance they blink faster than OEM. I ordered pair for tail @ Superbrightleds.com, will those work? Company claims they're plug in and play. Has anyone done it though?

I'm pretty sure they'll blink to fast, just like you said.

Does anyone know what type of flasher the Runner uses. Can a load independant one be swapped out, to stop this.

It's a 7443 type bulb. The one I ordered has resistor instaled inside. I'm just curious if there's enough resistance? Any way mine should arrive in 2 days. I'll post on what happens.

if i remember correctly someone tried fitting the led bulbs into the tail light assembly but had to trim a peice because the led module couldn't fit through the narrow hole of the stock bulbs.

Those fit nicely, no triming needed. I love the color and fit, but Damit those blink like mad. Normal blinker rate is 80 per minute, LED goes probubly 280-360. Resistors definatelly needed. I give up, OEM amber back in and LED back to store :(

If you getting right bulbs, they will fit without any problems. ksneubec is right you'll need to add parallel resistors to flush the LED like the filament bulb

What I wanna know is if the 06 LED tails also have LED amber turn indicators! Can someone who has the new LED tails please chime in on this!

i have LEDs on my signal tail light. and it looks pretty good. it's RED though but i'm pretty sure they sell them with amber. but of course you could always make your own. buy 7-8 LEDs, resistor, and a chip to make it blink however fast you want it to blink.

I have them. NO, LED is just tail/stop part.

Well, you could have it for the front bumper signal and maybe corner lights if it fits. My big sister got hyper white LEDs on her Honda Accord's corners, which is illegal so she took it off. But you could put LEDs wherever you please but sometimes it's not legal.

Yes, that the only way to do it - put aftermarket LED replacement bulbs, but do not forget to add parallel resistors to the circuit.
The original question was if Toyota OEM LED tails has LED turn signal - answer is no. Here is the link to my LED retrofit: LED Tail Lights

mmmmm . . . . not so sure they will. I installed them into my rear fog lights and they work as blinkers, but if I wire them up to the parking lights, then they screw up. I think you'll find that you need the resistors that they sell as well. Let us know how it works out.

It depends of setup you are in. If just replacing regular turn signal bulbs in tails to LED, you will need 3Om resistors on each one. If you doing rear fog light mod, there is two ways. First: tails/brake - connecting to tails - LED works fine (I personally have this one and it works great with red LEDs). Second: tails/brake/turn - connecting to towing wiring - LED might not work well due to low resistance. In this case you might add some resistors to turn wiring or find relay which switches the signal from brake to turn.

I ordered the amber lights for the tail lights on my 1st Gen does anyone know what size resistor would work. I know they sell a kit that is about $10 but, if its only a resistor and they sell 10 packs at the local computer store for about $3. Maybe its just me being cheap but wouldn't one of those do the same thing? If so, can anyone tell me what size resistor to use?

did you buy the bulbs or the LEDs? if you bought the bulbs, it should come with the resistors and everything. but if you bought the LEDs, you need to find the precentage of watts and other stuff. go to google.com and search for 'LED resistor calculator' after you found out all the information about the LED. i have the actual LED 'bulb' so i didn't need anything else besides plug-and-play. but if i was going to make my own, i just wire it up and plug it in. since my LEDs come with the resistor itself. have fun!
