Changed interior lights to LED over the weekend. Here are some results.

Top is stock bulbs. (Sorry the first one is out of focus.)
Bottom is LED bulbs.

Same zoom setting, exposure time, and aperture.

You can see the difference.

FYI, I got the LEDs from v-leds.com per J.A.'s write up here (Thanks J.A.!):
Toyota 4Runner Interior 5k LED Lighting Conversion

3 pairs of this for map lights and door courtesy lights:
5K WHITE 4 LED 2W HIGH POWER BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR

And two of these for dome light:
5K WHITE 4.5W 9 LED HIGH POWER PANEL LIGHT 194 921 3175 211

I also got this (less powerful version of above 194 bulb) for license plate light:
5K WHITE HIGH POWER LICENSE PLATE MAP PARKING LED BULBS 194 168 158 | 1 PAIR

Here is light output comparison between the two LED bulbs.

Not a dramatic difference but left one is a little brighter. The right one is still brighter than stock.

Will be doing Maplight Mod soon, too.

I'm always a fan of this mod, it amazes me how dim and crappy the stock light bulbs are. When I switched from my 03 to the 08, the first thing I did was swap my LED bulbs in, I couldn't take the stock lighting

Looks great! I also followed JA's guide to swapping mine and I couldn't be more aesthetically pleased with the results.

Looks beautiful. Is there any way to get these lights cheaper though? And do these fade out rather than cut?

For cheaper LED bulbs you can also look for them on ebay. But I wouldn't expect tight quality control. But it's cheap so you can buy more. And often it's hard to find exact specs like brightness and color temperature.

And they do fade out just like factory bulbs.

Then I may have to give it a try.
