LED Light Bar RECOMMENDATIONS/INSIGHT

The time has COME!! Finally looking to purchase an LED bar for my ROOF above the windshield and also add a couple pods in front of my mirrors.

Q1: What is the longest bar that will fit EDGE to EDGE?? (Wanted a 50" but measurements fell short surprisingly) I want the longest bar that will fit comfortably, no hanging off or not reaching windshield span.

So,
Q2: What bars do you sport?? Any insight on purchasing an AFFORDABLE (and) QUALITY light bar with an acceptable IP rating?

Don't worry, I'm doing my research too. Just want some fellow 4th Gens' two cents. 'Preciate it!!

I run AVEC. Off of the tacomaworld forum. Great deals on lights compared to what they are listed for. I have a 40 and have loved every minute of it. Also rigid covers fit perfectly.

Just looked on tacomaworld and there is a 90+ page thread with the last bit of it talking about how AVEC isn't what it used to be and are now selling cheap lights with terrible customer service. Looks like you got the "good stuff"...

Yes it is a 40 up top.

Just looked on tacomaworld and there is a 90+ page thread with the last bit of it talking about how AVEC isn't what it used to be and are now selling cheap lights with terrible customer service. Looks like you got the "good stuff"...

I haven't really checked up I know there were a few new members trying start crap on his thread and such, but I have bought a light bar and 2 different sets of pods for friends. I worked directly with him via PM on tacomaworld. Like I said that was maybe 6-8 months ago. But last I checked some newbies tried spamming his page because of some mudflaps he sold? Yes he privately sold mudflaps, and they tried flaming him on his business website.

Thanks for the details. Was difficult to understand what exactly happened and if the issues was the lights, money missing, etc.

Don't know what you are looking for but I bought a $36 20" light bar off eBay. Some feel certain models are all the same just priced based on brand recognition. I bought the least expensive version. Will see how it does...

If you don't mind me asking, how much was that 40" bar? I am thinking of an up top roof rack bar, and I had a positive experience with OPT7 bars. But I just looked on the AVEC website and man those things look slick! Also a big plus that the rigid covers fit right on.

Check out ali express . Com (no spaces). Chinese direct. Almost all of that stuff is manufactured in China anyway and that site is significantly cheaper than buying here. I haven't bought a bar from there, but the household LED bulbs and other stuff I have are just fine.

For me I think it was around $380 shipped to my door. But again I contacted him through the forum and his prices in person are a lot cheaper than advertised on his website. And yes when we did our 2 week long road trip I started reading threads of debris/damage getting kicked up and cracking the lens on lights thus making them inop. So I went with some amber covers which is great for the snow storms we have here. Good luck!
