LED light rocker switch - can I put it here?

Just ordered some Rigid Dually's with the CBI ditch brackets as a much needed lighting upgrade. My problem is I want to put a rocker switch that is the same size as the ARB's but the only dash cutout open is for a wider switch.

Is this a job for the Dremel or do they sell a wider plate with a single cutout in the middle? The photo should help make sense. Thanks.

if you have a 96-98 why don't you put in the slots by the e-brake (next to the Toyota security and the rear window down up) they are the same size as the ones you have put the ARB switches in.

Never mind. I just went out and took a closer look and there is an open cutout in the black area next to the dash dimmer. It's kind of blocked by the steering wheel from the drivers view so guess I never noticed it.

Although, the new switch matches the ARB look so would be nice to put it over there but no biggie.

Mine has switches there:

Haha. I read your thread with all the mystery switches pretty funny - the other owner must have been a tweeker electrician or something. I can put the switch where you have the traction control? switch.

That is where the factory E locker switch would go. It'd be find there!

Major jealous that you are up there this weekend. It is really nice here too but nothing beats Green Valley.

My advice is don't cut that one. I am trying to replace mine that was cut up by the previous owner and cheapest I have found is $20, yes $20 for a square piece of plastic! And most places don't even have it available any longer. If anyone has a spare please let me know.

You can cut that wide slot and put 2 in sideways side by side. But at that point its probably better to just get the switch panel from carling or a single din one cor carling switches that is floating about.

I liked OE switches so I did this. My inverter and battery stuff is on the console, OBA and 2 more blanks in the single DIN slot.

Mines is the same as jwaldz.

Except I have switchs that match the ones arb send.
And my compressor switch is lite up red so I know for sure at night.

You can get the cover and extra switchs from the same source on jwaldz post.
They actually make the switchs for arb.

Carling actually makes the switches. I believe "Jim" is the owner of this company which sells all the variety of rockers. The pictures of JWaldz set up show the LED lighted switches. Which I LOVE now because they don't get hot like the old style.

I have a mixture of these, 20 to be exact, in my LC.

Damnit! Where the hell did you get that center console?! I just finally found a 2000 center console with cupholders at the junkyard yesterday, but it has that worthless little hole where YOURS has spots for 4 switches! I was sooo happy with my new console until I saw your console today!! I haven't seen it in any of the other console swap write-ups.. Everyone talks about how they have to move their power window and ECT switches because there isn't a spot for them in the new console, but here you have one with cupholders AND spots for switches..

So spill, where the heck did you get it from?!?!

I was actually talking about the center console where the cup holders and the e-brake are.. But, thank you for that info as well! I just assumed that those were custom, I'll be saving that link for when I get some more stuff that needs switches!

I made it, details in my thread.

Wow! Amazingly nice work! No way I would have ever thought that was anything other than stock!

I was going to just put a metal plate behind the opening and mount my switches in it. But now you've given me something to think about.

How is it holding up, does it still look that good?
