I love how they look on the Audi's,

I think it really depends on the quality of the LEDs used, and how they are installed into the housing. I'm not sure how it would look modded into our headlights. If there was a way to get them in there, so they look good on and also off (dont' want to see an ugly strip inside there when they are not on). It might look nice. But if looks like you 'threw' some LEDs strips in there, then it's going to look bad.

The aftermarket kits I've seen look bad too, poor quality LEDs and the housings just look cheap too.

bringing this from the dead, i have finally did my led strip under the headlight, hard to get good pics from phone, but these have both white led and amber, the way i wired it, white to parking and the amber to the signal.

Nah, this sort of bling isn't for me. Much prefer the understated look of stock 4Runners. I wouldn't buy an Audi or Merc with them either (I actually feel kind of sorry for those guys) as I try to avoid vehicles that scream, "Hey, look at me!!!" But that's just me. To each their own.

maybe its not for everybody, but i like it and it worked for me. i think im done with my headlight retrofit for now.

if you go to hid-planet you can see some retrofits that actually look quite awesome. but if you don't know what the hell you are doing it will look ghetto.

if u hadnt notice, i do have morimoto d2s projectors n the stock lowbeam, the quick retro works, but i had to mod it a little to make it better, it wasnt straight/ even, one of the projectors needed to be rotated a lil, but after the mod, its dead on.

I like the fact that u went for functionability...the amber for turn signals is a great way to be seen..i like the idea... its like those rear tailgate strips...

It was fresh and cool when Audi first did it, now with all the aftermarket lights and Chrysler jumping in with the 200 (ex-sebring, not LED's but same concept) it's been copied to death.

If I had an Audi I'd be so annoyed by all the copycats after dumping that kind of cash on a car.

I actually have a new Audi and the copycats don't bother me at all. I still like the look better on Audi....but I'm not sure why. Maybe they just do the LED strips better than the copycats. Either way, I'd never add them to a 4Runner because I think it would look silly.

FYI-- you can turn them off on Audi vehicles if you prefer. Just select the "DLR off" option on the MMI screen and you'll never have to worry about it again.

Has anyone modded their headlights with an led strip inside of it, sort of like Audis? I haven't seen any pics so far on this site and I was wondering how it would look.

I am interested in the same LED strip inside headlight housing on my 96 4runner.
Did you find any information on this subject?
