LED Wig Wag Unit

Has anyone bought a wig wag unit to alternate your LED tail lights? I found a thread a while back but cant find it now. The units are pretty cheap on ebay but im afraid they will severely reduce the length of time my LED tail lights last. Anyone have any info they can share on this?

Sounds interesting. I know we talked about Whelen Vertex strobes before but it sounds like you are looking for something different. On my install, I ended up moving the strobes into the turn signal area instead of the reverse light area like I previously had done. I think I get much better output now from the strobes.

I was just lookin at some models on ebay. How much did the vetex strobes cost you? I want to do a 6 strobe kit with strobes in the reverse lights and in the rear bumper reflectors. The remaining 2 will go in either the parking light or turn signal area.

I'll have to take some pictures but I ended up moving the light from the reverse light up to the turn signals because it gave me more output. I can't remember how much I paid for them, doh. On second thought I think they came out to be about $55 a piece maybe 10 months ago......

Alright, took some quick shots.

In this picture you can kind of see where the vertex light lives in the turn signal. Kind of hard to tell but you can tell in the difference of the bulb colors. The strobe is a lighter orange and the turn signal bulb are dark orange.

That set up looks great. I think im going to mount the rear strobes in the rear bumper reflectors, should look good. My only obstacle is figuring out how to get to the parking light to drill a hole in the housing.

Whelen makes a product called a back flash that will alternate your brake and reverse lights.

It won't hurt your LED lamps, I mean they're LED after all.

Check your local laws. A lot of municipalities don't allow you to do anything with your brake lights especially if you are an emergency vehicle.
