LEDs for rear plate..anyone run them?

I thought so too- is that not the case?
I swap in LED plate lights because it makes the rig look cleaner/newer at night. The stock bulbs just look dingy.
Thanks! They're too long, and don't fit well at all. I need to replace them with shorter units.

The stubbsy ubsy ones Tony bought are perfect for the license plate bulbs
I had a 10 pack of some "shrouded" ones laying around and used them, but it was a tight fit.

I'd post a photo of mine, but I'm embarrassed because the bright lights now highlight the scratched up license plate (from the PO being a noob scraping off registration renewal stickers) and the faded paint on the hitch 
. Maybe the dim OEM lights were better

Pull the lenses - they probably just have dirt on top of them. Mine were caked from years of dirt roads with fine dust. Old bulbs will also have build-up on the inside of the glass from the filament evaporating.
I just used whatever white LEDs were in the local O'Reiley's ... they don't need to be very bright to do the job for the plate.

Please don't buy these. I bought them and they all flicker. I gave some to my brother to use in Land Cruiser door courtesy lights and they are flickering too.
100% garbage LEDs.
I've had eBay $1 LEDs that lasted longer.

They're not the exact ones I am using. It's the LED layout type I am using.

Looks like I'm a little late to this...
I have had tremendous luck with VLEDs as an LED bulb supplier. I have their headlights, corner lights, interior lights, and would have many more if money allowed for endless LED retrofitting. All of their bulbs are top notch from what I've experienced. Seemingly better than what I've received from superbrightleds. They are a bit spendy, but run sales promos pretty often.

I've used VLEDs for many years. Cheaper products simply do not compare.
And they ship from Bellingham, WA so I typically get my orders next day

I'm running their LMZ Platinum H4 bulbs @ 5000K. It looks like they've discontinued these, and are on a different generation bulb for the H4s now, "Micro". Newer gen looks smaller and claims to be more efficient, but at a bit lower lumens than my LMZs.
I'm using the stock headlight housing. The bulbs are adjustable so you can get them aimed pretty well to reduce blinding oncoming traffic. They light up the street much better than stock, and especially road signs, markers, etc.
I did have to disable/remove my DRL functionality though. Something for you to look into.

I've been using Philips Vision 194s in other vehicles, no flicker and a 12-year warranty. The link is to Pep Boys because they're readily available and competitive price-wise to mail order places, sometimes even cheaper if PB sends you discount coupons. https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/1164512/01014. Nice white color, not super blue like some of the cheap crap.
Philips recently released a new Ultinon line; never tried the 194s but if they perform as poorly as their amber 7443 bulbs I'd stay away from them,they're nothing like the excellent original Extreme Ultinon line.
Recently tried these Pilot COB type 194s and installed them in the license plate lights, also found them on Pep Boys and there's usually a 20-25% discount available https://www.pepboys.com/product/details/1318432/01014
I haven't run them long enough to comment on flicker, but they're very bright, brighter than the Philips. Color has a slightly bluer tinge than Philips. I have these in my dad's Honda CRV's map lights and they're pretty blinding.
I've used VLEDs 194s but only ambers for front marker lights. Had a flicker issue with one a few years back but was sent a free replacement pair right away. I recently bought a newer design pair from their closeout section (they released an even newer design to replace these) and they've been working fine.

does anyone use any led bulbs for the cluster? or the lights behind the dash?
or do we just buy oem replacements for them?
The common D has been out in the cluster since I bought it, and I think the D on the gear selector as well, and the back lighting for the rear window switch is also out... Like to maybe freshen that all up since I got to pull it out to do the taco antenna mod.
