Leds in headlights like this?

Looking for ideas. I love how some of the newer cars have lights that frame the inside of the headlights. I think this would be a great look in the stock 4Runner housings, but a full square maybe... You don't see indivdual leds, it's more CFL lookings.

Ideas on how to do this?

Similiar to this, but a full square.

Thanks. I called them, but since these are strips they said it won't work. He liked my idea, but said they don't have anything to do this.... Hmm

Ok, that's pretty cool. Wonder how "intense" the light is. You don't always know what you are getting from overseas. If you can snag some of those instagram pics, or any other info from that guy, please do.

2pcs 30cm Flexible White Amber Switchback LED Strip Tube DRL Turn Signal Light | eBay

They have things like this all over ebay. Flexible led tube strips in all sorts of colors. These are switchbacks that you can hookup so that they blink orange when you turn on your blinker. I saw a guy on Instagram with pretty much what you are talking about but he went just wrapped around the top to inside(grille side) and then bottom.

Those are pretty cool! Would be interested in seeing some of those Instagram pictures also, if you can find them.

You'll never get an LED strip to look like that. Those you posted are fiber optic-like. Light is transferred through a hollow tube.

Luckily I was able to find him. He has a bunch more if you search for his name.

I remember seeing a fellow on my old forums who used some window blind rods, clear of course, and used an oven to heat and to shape them, drilled a hole in each end and inserted an LED diode in each end and it looked really good. Much like this:

That is really similar to the way audi, bmw and others are doing it, they use some optics (made of clear acrylic) and then they use a single high power diode at one end.

Ok, pretty cool. If they went all around the whole perimeter, it might be cool. Here's his instagram withmore pics:

Since I saw them I wondered if something like that would be possible for our runners and I found several people on hidplanet trying to do the same (for different cars of course), anyway to be honest I don't think there is a good way to make them look good on our headlights. Our headlights are too simple, too square.

Here is someone who used those led strips

Pretty good!

I'm liking those, but I don't have the middle glowing projector, which would look better not being lit up.

-If he GMC's top parts extended over further like you did in the photoshop, their's would even be better. Maybe I'll try to get a front pic of my truck if you have time to mess around more?

Very cool. Still figuring out which I like best above. Thoughts???

This is kinda cool too. I guess you can get to blink amber with signals?

I think the third one and the last two look ok, the guy that did drl on the forester uses them as turn signals.
