So, as of recent, I've had my left inner tie rod end replaced (due to a bit of play in it) and thought that the clunking noise in the front end was because of that.. Nope.. Got the truck back up on the lift and found out that there is quite a bit of play in the whole steering rack.... :faint2: After reading about the possible gremlin of the steering guide, I went ahead and ordered up the necessary parts in hope that it will resolve the issue. If not, I'm not sure what to do.

That was game one, find out what needs to be replaced - guide or R&P...

Second game, while driving (again, this may or may not be due to the first issue) I hear (and feel in the driver side foot well), a clunking noise. I know that many of you have replaced the guide and resolved the clunk in the front end. But, this feels like it's right under my feet...

Could that clunk possibly be from the body mounts??

These both seem like that have a lot of room to move around - as well as the other, what, 8?

Comments, questions and thoughts are appreciated to find and resolve this friggen noise..

im sure you checked, but maybe the sway bar bushings are shot?? letting it bounce around a little??

maybe you could dot some grease on that open body mount and see if it travels up to the housing?? give you an idea if thats it??

I have replaced sway bar bushings front and rear, sway bar links front and rear, shocks - 5100's Tundra Bilstiens, shock mounts, 891 coils in the rear, and greased everything up (including a bit on the bushings)

This could be serious, check your lower ball joints.
Also are your CV boots intact? No grease in the CV can cause a clunk.
My vibration was from my rear drive shaft.

That's what I'm afraid of! I've had my lower ball joints check by a couple techs, and they all say they are 'fine'. Well, same goes for me if I'm having a crappy day and someone asks me how I'm doing, I'll say fine.... I may just go ahead and order up me some OEM ball joints...

CV Boots are all intact and not leaking. I also got under there and check the front and rear drive shaft - goot n' tight.
