Lets see the power

So I'm curious to see what everyone has under the hood. Lets see the speed of your Runner.

0 to 60 times are always nice.
Top the runner out from a dead stop.
Doesnt matter what you have either it could be dead stock all the way to a supercharged beast.

I wanna see and hear some Power.
Any videos you might have of your runner showing its power, throw it up on here for everyone to see.

Ill have a video of my Runner on here later today.

ive done 95mph while pulling a car on a tow dolley down hill. that was sketchy and only done about 105 top speed probably.

oh and this is probably a decent at around 2000 feet ;) i do notice a change from elevation, power braking is just not the same here in utah, like sea level its achieveable but here its just barely not...

not fast but cool

I know this is a stupid question, but what is power breaking?

Putting your foot on the brake and the gas to generate as much torque to get the most holeshot...the gains are worthless compared to the possible damage to the transmission...correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's the equivalent of dropping the clutch at red line in a stick.

Oh ok. I have never heard it called that before.

I just ran a 0-60 three times tonight and uploaded the quickest to YouTube...but its been processing for about an hour. lol

it was about 9 seconds and it made a helluva lot of noise haha!

I'll post it when it's ready

matt, i did! im always in SF for concerts both indie and mainstream and you guys are good.
thanks a lot bro! also check out Lady Gaga (her music sucks a*s) i wrote all of her percussion, and Jason Mraz, i played drums on his most recent CD.

I've run my Runner up at the dragstrip up here at a few of the Truckfests and powerbraking did nothing to help my 1/4 mile times and actually hurt them and I was running over a half second quicker by simply letting off the brake and going WOT when that last amber lights up.

19.0s with powerbraking and a best of 18.3 w/o which puts me right on for Car&Driver's 17.1 1/4 mile test back in '99 of the 4Runner given that most NA vehicles lose over a second up here well over a mile high.

Shiney and slow on race day

This guys Tacoma was fitted with a TRD filter and exhaust and was running 15.7s which is quite impressive at 5800ft and he had the launches down with that 6 speed.

I also saw a last gen Tacoma fitted with a SC and he was running mid 16s with a bit of traction issues.

I think I might have learned a trick to power braking cause i did notice it was slower but yesterday i was sitting at a light and my exhaust was just barely touching the frame and making this absolutely annoying sound but if i gave it a little gas while on the brake it would go away, and since all my upgrades i havent left a light with out going wot cause its still making me giggle like a school boy and what i did was instead of holding the brake down and giving it wot, hold down the brake wait for the light and try to time it so that you hit the gas (to the floor) and when the light turns green your at 1000rpm (and releasing the brake). I did this yesterday and i didnt break traction at all and it launched like a bat out of hell. Its kinda hard, and my "perfect" launch was done accidentally so trying to do it again just isnt happening so it will take some time to learn.

Boy,your up early for a musician. ;):

Yes,holding at about 1000rpm is about right as I experimented with several lauching techniques and just being above idle speed worked best for me.
