Let's see your 2nd gen audio setups!!

I have a 1993 4Runner with the stock head unit and speakers. It is time for me to upgrade to something a little better. I have 2 10's in a single box that I would like to put in the back somewhere.

What is the best location to install these subs, and how can I conceal them so that no one breaks into my 4runner to steal them?

If you guys have any setups post some pictures.

Thanks.

Front I have Polk dB401's, the rear is stock until after xmas, and the HU will be a Sony CDX-GT310 in a few days. I highly recommend you use the enclosures in front with a little tweaking with the sound deadening foam, and tight weatherstripping (non-porous) between the speaker and the box. Other wise it will sound like crap. As for the back, I will be making my own enclosures, and then will be adding 1 10" soon on the sidewall, enclosed of course. It would be like this. You know those little access panels in the back? Well the sub would be there, in a custom enclosure. It'll take a little work, but in the end it will be well worth it. I plan on dynamatting or something of the equivalent the doors & trunk area, and then adding sound deadening foam also. This will eventually be the quietest 2nd gen you've ever heard (inside).

I was thinking about the access panels in the back, but the box I have has the 2 subs already installed and I was hoping to use that box. I was wondering if there was any sort of roll out cargo cover that I could get, similar to the ones in the 3rd and 4th gen runners.

What other options do I have when it comes to concealing the subs?

How big is the box? You might be able to get fabric and cover it to match the color of the trucks interior. Others have better ideas, too.

The box is about 12"x13"x28". I may just try to buy some material that matches the blue interior and cut it to the correct size and use velcro to attach the cover to the sides of the cargo area. I don't want it to look tacky though. Do you have any better ideas?

Without making any modifications to the box, I'm out of ideas.
