This is my setup for now, 12" W0v2 powered with a JL 300/1. Stock speakers. Temporary, though. Will upgrade to a 12" or 13.5" W7 and 1000/1 by the the summer.
Also have a JL 300/4 sitting here, just waiting to find a good deal on a component speaker setup for the fronts and maybe the rears.

and my Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD. Sounds a lot better than my last Alpine deck.

This is mine, not as much thump as you guys like but, it is enough for my old ears:sleepy:
I have Memphis audio 4” carbon fiber components up front and Pioneer 6x9 quad axles in the rear. The DVD/Navi is a Clarion NX-409
Plays and sounds real nice in my old first gen.

Here's a pic of my sub in my '07 SR5. I had a local shop make the box, because I liked the concept of the JL Stealthbox, but I didn't like that I couldn't use the Double-Decker Cargo. I have a JL 10w3v3 and a clarion amp under the drivers seat. I also wired up a switch to kill the amp just in case I have any clients with me.

I wish the carpet matched a little better, but I can live with it.

Nice....how much $$..

I used to sell power tools so I traded a drill for the sub, straight up. The company I used to work for owned Clarion, so I got the amp for $40. The shop charged me $250 to build the box and install everything. So, +/- $300 out the door. It hits hard too, I'm very happy with it.

This is what I'm looking for. Something that retains all or most of the stock carrying ability but gives a bit more thump. Do you have a stock HU, or aftermarket? Did your shop keep the templates for the box, so they could build more for additional customers? :thumb3:

Thanks,
Jim

I have a stock HU.

Unfortunately, the shop didn't keep the template and the guy that built it doesn't work there anymore.

If you want any other pics or any measurements, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Your box is exactly is just what the doctor ordered, I too like the stealthbox but want to keep my double decker. I would love to have whatever dimensional or mounting information you have!

I like the sub to be easily removeable so you can still use the cargo space and how much bump do some of you need? I personally hate the people that need to thump other people's cars that are 20 feet away, that's annoying.

i have a simple MTX 10" which thumps me fine and is enough to bother people if I wanted and it's easily removed. One bad side effect I've seen in various vehicles that have excessive bass is interior rattles show up as body panels are loosened from the thumping.

Agreed

I could not agree more. I enjoy a nice stereo setup as much as the next guy but it gets old real quick when some jackass with his superbass setup feels the need to go cruising down my street after midnight and rattle the pictures on my walls and wake up my kid. I'd say thats overkill.

and where are the amps?

I'll admit the sub box is not the best, doing it again I would have made the box higher & longer and skinnier. But, I'm not smelling fiberglass again for a while, no thanks I can live with how it is now. I sound-proofed a lot of the truck and it has a great effect not only is it quieter inside, it's quieter outside. It can be very loud inside, but outside it is very muted. I was that super loud guy waking up your kids when I was 18, now I like it loud still but you don't need to hear it.
