Just got a 2011 SR5 4x4. Really like the vehicle. My only complaint thus far is the lack of storage.

I was thinking about mounting these to the roof. I already have gas and water ones mounted to our camper. Really nice product....

What are your storage solutions?

For emergency equipment? Gear?

When all 3 rows are in use, there is no space to store anything. No nooks and crannies to store jumper cables, fix a flat, on board air, tire wrench etc....

Here's what I have. I'm trying to put a build thread together with all of the mods that I have added up to this point, I will try to get some more pics posted sometime next week.

here is my storage system / sleeping platform. im still working on it, going to add a sliding shelf for the cooler and carpet the whole thing. i ended up removing the rear passenger side seat bottom for more room.

im going to do a writeup with measurements at some point if anyone wants them. the overall length of the platform is ~75" and fits me just fine @ 5'11"

Here is my very basic solution...a plastic foot locker with a tow strap, flares, compressor, and a few other goodies.

After seeing the camp kitchen you built on another forum, I'm surprised you haven't gotten halfway into building out the back end. I know I'm tempted to hire you if I can ever figure out how to use sketchup... and find someone to weld the base frame

I thought those Rotopax fuel cans were not available here in the US ?

If you need help designing something in Sketch Up let me know, or PM me and I'll send my email and send them to me that way...I use it a lot, so it becoming increasingly easier, and faster, to use.

I thought about doing a drawer system, which would really cool, but it's a breeze to take that locker in and out, especially by myself. I almost always now have my back seats down, and just push it up to the fronts, and hook a couple of bungi's on the loops to lift the back seat bottoms that are exposed, and that stops it from sliding. The drawers would need to be securely fastened to prevent and moving, which I'm afraid would make a bigger PITA to put in and out.

I still do some side work from time to time ( which the family finds quite useful and popular) so it's nice to chuck some tools in the back and go!

Rotopax is definitely here in the US. I have 4 units I got off ebay and received them with 3 days of order.
