Lets talk about wheel spacers...

I have an 07 Sport and i'm going to do the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift on it soon. There is a shop about 30 mins from me that is very highly regarded when it comes to trucks and lifts etc...

They said they would be happy to install the lift for me but they don't install wheel spacers because of the liability.

Does this make sense? i mean i know i could install them myself without a problem...but have you ever heard of a truck losing it's wheel because a spacer came loose?

There are several threads here where this is discussed. Most shops are referring to the spacers like a lot of low riders use that don't bolt on and use new studs; those are basically just big washers and leave less thread for the lug nuts to bolt onto.

A lot of shops will say no just to cover their @$$. Some members even say their local tire stores won't rotate & balance or mount tires because of spacers. I think I also read that someone got his tire place to change their position after seeing the spacers and how the work.

From all the threads I've read, no one has ever had a problem with the spacers coming loose. Just make sure you use the included loctite and retighten after an initial few weeks of break-in.

Yeah, they are just covering their arses.....Like Gaterose said it is easy to do. Just recheck the nuts after a while. It is also a good idea to use a torque wrench, which you can get for about $40.
