Let's Talk fuel additives. Whats your fav?

So I was thinking about which fuel additive to dump into my next tank and was wondering what stuff do you guys use? And why do you use it. Is there any preferred stuff?

I normally use either Sea-Foam or Amsoil P.I.

Should I just continue to use what I am using or is there a better additive?

Idk if this makes any diff. but I am a 3rz.

1oz TC-W3 2-stroke oil per every 5 gallons of gas... So basically 3oz at a normal fill up. It's supposed to help keep the fuel pump lubricated, as supposedly today's gas is very dry.

I regularly use Lucas fuel additive. It gets pricey if you buy the small bottle so I bought the gallon jug (much better price per ounce) and refill my smaller bottle. Been using it in two vehicles now with great results... But then again it could be unnecessary but it makes me feel better doing so.

+1 for BG 44k. I'd even say Royal Purple Max Clean or Redline Si-1 also work well.

Since I bought her in 1999, I have used Techron two tanks or so before every oil change. My engine has been problem free for 170k. I just went in to clean the throttle body after 30k and I had only the thinnest coating of dirt to remove. I have yet to clean or otherwise touch my IAC and my removed plugs look great. There may be 'better' stuff out there, but I will stick with what seems to work for me.

I think what he means is that you run a small risk of melting injectors and loosing gunk in your gas tank and running it through your fuel pump ruining it but the risk is very small. On diesels we ask people to run conditioner to save injectors and we have be come down and clean injectors. As long as you stay with a company like bg products which is what they specialize in fuel products

I've been pouring a bottle at every oil change,usually Gumout or Techron but I tried Lucas this time because it was on sale.

Does it make a difference? Perhaps,doesn't hurt anything except my wallet becoming $5-$10 emptier per oil change.

I also use the Lucas fuel additive in my vehicles. The nice thing is that it is also sold at Walmart of all places.

Been testing Oil

I just bought a liter of tc-w3 oil after reading that thread. I added 2 oz to my 3/4 full tank for now. I don't have any problems with the engine, other than it idles a bit high (~900rpm) but I'll see if I notice any difference.
I'm just hoping I don't blow my motor up lol.

Yea I'm gonna try doing that too. I don't put much faith in fuel additives, though you know 2-stroke oil will keep things lubricated since otherwise a conventional 2-stroke wouldn't last long

Ya, I've been doing this. 1-oz per 5 gal of gas. But, I will usually only do it every 3,000 miles, I notice this post is almost 10-years old , oh well.

Since you resurrected this thread from the dead :witch: I was wondering if anyone had any current input on the subject. I am going to do a 1200 mile trip soon and will be racking up a lot of pavement miles (about 200 on dirt in the Mojave). Since I have fresh injectors already, is there any 'treatment' that might have any net positive effect (that is not Snake Oil)? Or is it all Snake Oil?
