StarTron (goofy name yet it does work well) cost effective - about $35 on amazon and treats 1024 gallons. Lubes - alcohol treatment - gas breakdown treatment - injector cleaner - decarbonizer.

Yes, fuel additives do work! Dont take my word for it...
although, when i ran Techtron through the 99 4 runner, with a fuel filter that was rusted on - it started to run WAY BETTER! as the old fuel filter was being cleaned out by the additive. I finally did my best " buffalo smaltz" on the threads and finally got the filter off, quite easily relatively speaking.
my son's 18 Taco and my '13 highlander have in tank filters. The highlander has 191K on the clock and , engine -wise, runs like brand new. " faster than it should be" as i;ve been told. Started using SeaFoam and Techtron religiously @ 80K -ish or so, and every-so -often.
Polyetheramines are our friends.
This guy, while self-admittedly GEEKY, is a chemist and really good at it. If you cut through this video to 9:40 he gets to fuel additives ( after debunking ALL oil additives)

Filled the tank yesterday with the Toyota additive which is small and expensive! Will let you know how it goes

I was driving a Austin Healy around 1970 when Chevron introduced Techron into their gas(about $.25 a gallon). My sensitive side draft carbs were always black in the throat from the typical fuels then.
My first tank of Chevron with Techron cleaned the carbs to shinny aluminum. When I burn other brands of gas I will burn a tank or two of Chevron every oil change or put a bottle in the tank.
I stay with it because I know it works.
