Lets talk Rear Cargo Storage

Matt, like your setup. Looking to build something very similar. Is your base "plate" just plywood? How did you mount the fridge slide to the base? I'm concerned about the weight of the fridge when full and the stress this will put on the base when its fully extended. Thanks!

My base plate is just plywood. Same Plywood I used everywhere else - 1/2" birch.

The fridge slide is made out of some lengths of aluminum and everyday drawer slides. It's screwed directly into the base plate.

Going on a little trip this weekend and it'll be the first time using this set up. I'm hoping, and somewhat expecting, everything to go well. The slides for the fridge are rated for 200# so that shouldn't be the fail point.
