Let's Talk Tires

The Hankook RF 10 ATM's have excellent reviews everywhere you look. They're great tires, and you should look into them, as mentioned. I've spoken with people who prefer them over the BFG's and Revo's. I'll be getting a set myself in about 2-3 weeks. Great tire for the money. A set of 265/70/17's was $600, whereas the Revo's in the same size were $850 (going through my local dealer, price is with mount, balance, and alignment). They're hard to beat!
 
Ive been runnning Cooper Discoverer ATR's and not 1 issue. great road manners and good in the snow.
 
For rthose of you interested in the Hankook RF10's, I got mine at Pep Boys, buy 3 and get one free deal. These tires are great for the price.
 
After hearing about the deal at Pep Boys, I decided to check into it. End result: not worth it. The sale is through a mail in rebate, and to qualify you must purchase all four tires, get them mounted and balanced, and add road hazard warranty. My total came out to $850 on mine, and I *might* get the rebate for $160 back. In my case, I'd also have to pay for an alignment. The local shop has quoted me $700 installed (mount, balance, and alignment), so the Pep Boys sale really doesn't save anything. Also, guy I spoke with really wasn't friendly, and flipped out when I told him the tire size. Sorry, but 255/75/17's are pretty common, especially since they are OEM on Jeeps and other rigs.
 
I have the nitto's on my ride and they have been great for 5-6k. However remember that no tires will last 60-70k and still maintain a a good tread. That may be their claim, but i replace my tires at least every 40k regardless. dryrot is a big tire issue when your on the east coast. My stock dunflops made it 40k and were as bald as a 100yr old man

1) Hankooks ATm Rf10's
2) Kumho MT or (for more highway) SAT Kl-61- (great looking tire)
3) Maxxis (especially their MT's Buckshot) but they also have an AT-771

Do some research and you will be able to find what you seek...and for final $$$ checks...look at ebay.

I have finally made a decision on buying the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10
great reviews good price and love the way they look.

I 've also talked to a guy from pep boys about the tires and he couldn't even get me a price stating they dont carry the RF10... but other Hankook's...so I am surprised you guys even got a price on them. i got some discount coupons from them of 20% off ....so it might be a good deal in my case..but like I said...the guy told me over the phone they didn't carry that model . I wonder if it was because of the size I want.
275/55/20.

by now ...my tires and rims should have been ordered ..but some inconvinience set me behind for another 4 -6 weeks. Plus the rims I want are $260 a piece...OUCH!!!.

Go for the Hankooks ....:thumb3:
 
Of your choices, the LTX would be my pick. However, after reading reviews here I went with 255/75 GYSA for $125/ea shipped from Discount Tire. I wont need to put them on for a couple years at least but I couldnt say no at that price.

Interesting, so you are just going to store them for a few years?
