Anybody know how to install a leveling kit for the 2011 4Runner Limited with the weird inter-connected shock setup? I love the 4Runner but don't particularly like the nosedive look. I would like to raise the front end at least 2" to level it out.
One way of leveling is to install Bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks. You can also installe the 5100 rear shocks. The rears don't add any lift. Run a search with the term "5100" and you'll find a lot of threads about this.
his xreas limited can't just install 5100 as easily.. shops have said they'd have to complete uninstall the xreas to put in 5100s..
when i had my 5100 installed.. the first thing they said was thank god you dont have xreas because it's a pain in the ass for them..
5100s made a HUGE difference in my sr5 handling.. i have this curve i go thru every day on my way home... i used to take that long curve in my lancer evo going 60+.. after i got my sr5 i was going like 30 and felt i was going to flip over.. now with 5100s i take the curve at 50+ easy and stable.. posted speed limit is 30
SO would a set of OME's be overkill if I don't plan on doing much offroad stuff? I just want better handling and a slight lift. Maybe 2/1.5 or 3/2. Would Billsteins be the better way to go? Did you use the stock springs?
Spacers are an option, but won't improve handling at all (I don't think).
