Leveling spacers - Poly vs. Billet

So I've decided what size spacer I want for the front to level off the rake, but I'm torn on which one to get. The Daystars are only $40, but they are molded polyurethane. There are several billet aluminum models available around $60 - 70, but I'm not sure they would be worth the extra $$. My concern with the poly ones is that they are not rigid, so they could introduce a little bit of additional flex into the front suspension. Can anyone who has gone with the Daystars or similar comment? I'd really prefer to only do this once. :

I went with the daystar 1" inch in the front raised it right @ 2" in the front looks great! rides perfect! I had read go with the poly due to metal on metal may make noise / not absorb shock as well?? But Im not sure about all that, Just what I read, Mine rides just like stock , I also replaced the shocks all the way around, Wow what a difference!

I have billets in front of one of mine. There will only be metal on metal noise if you don't install/tighten everything right. And as far as flex with the poly ones, they are both really strong. I don't think that the poly ones will have any more noticeable flex than the billet ones. I like the look of the billet ones, but if you are the type that would paint it, or don't care what it looks like, then I'd go poly all the way. In fact, I would probably go poly if I had that price difference when I was buying. I got mine used on a deal. Billet front and poly rear. But either way, it's going to feel/sound the same if you install right. HTH.

I had my Daystar 2.5 lift installed for about 3 years now with no problems. This included a lot of off road use in the desert. I do not think it will make much of a difference one way or another what kind you get.

I have not heard of any problems with the poly spacers, they hold up just fine. Save the cash in my opinion.

Anyway as the others have said, go with the poly. It's cheaper and does the same thing. I would only go with the billet if you wanted to see the little shiny thing under there (or if it was used and cheaper).

Ordered the Daystars, they arrived yesterday. Just need to wait until after the river trip next weekend to install. :surfer:
