Lexus clearly has the power to deliver a world class sport sedan. The question is, can it hang with an Audi RS4 or a MB C55 AMG? Two well established power players. At a base price of 55k it will be priced below the other two.

you forgot BMW Mpower if that thing cant take a corner like an m3 then for get it! power is noting without control! and why the f did they put the e brake by the pedal and not by the shifter? and no manual transmission?? :bonk: I'll take a new v8 ///m3 over it anyday.

The MB is a bloated sport coupe and the rs4 still can't hang with the M3. It loses it's ground in turns and the all-wheel drive actually makes it heavier and corner worse than the M3. The front-end plow on the s4 is rediculous and the 4.2 they shoehorned into that thing makes it track like ass, IMHO. I drove one from here to Phoenix for a trip there and back and it was fun, but deffinitely not a driver's car like an M3. I did get it to 150 mph though

...Wait, what was this original post??? Oh ya, the IS looks like something for show with no real performance potential. I mean, c'mon NO manual transmission and a foot e-brake?! Might as well just put a sign, "getting groceries really fast" on it...

I am still not liking the shape, esp. the nose. It looks too boyish...too Tokyo drift look. Otherwise, it has amazing mechanicals!! I do hope that Lexus does offer something other than white interior.

Yup...it's amazing what these cars put out these days! BMW M3 is about 400 hp, MB C63 is about 460 HP, Audi is 400+ HP, Caddy CTS V will be around 500 HP...if you're into the muscle cars of long ago, you gotta love this power war among the manufacturers! And all of these cars are under or at $60K.

With each generation, the power standard gets pushed higher and higher. My old BMW M3 would be viewed as being severely underpowered at 333 HP compared to these monsters!
