Lexus Yellow Capsule on 06 Runner

Has anyone tried the Lexus Yellow Capsule on their 4Runner fog?

i think the 06+ fogs are 9006, correct me if i am wrong. how about the yellow headlight film? which one you think is better?

I have 2 issues with the capsules. They may not dissipate the heat properly and cause premature failure and they cost $30+. You can get a set of yellow bulbs for that money.

You are correct the 06+ does use 9006 bulb. I am not sure about the film, it might shrink the film due to heat.

I do not think the yellow bulb will get the same dark yellow that the lexus capsules has. do you know if the yellow capsules is glass or plastic?

i am thinking those 3M clear bra type of material, they do make headlight protection film in colors. last time i checked on 3M's cert. dealer site and they do have yellow color film for the fog lights tho. i am sure they will stand on the heat produced from the 9006 bulbs. btw, how's your LS process going along? so far so good? those folks at hidplanet.com said the bottom reflector piece is a must for the LS tho. they said that reflector piece is for the width. i am not sure how's the width will be if that piece is trimmed off. due to our housing setup, i don't think that piece is visible after retro but also don't know if there's enough space. keep me update on the LS retro buddy.

I was wondering if you can take some pictures of the headlight on the back (the part where you connects the wiring and stuff) I just want to see how much trimming was done on your retrofit.

The capsules are glass.. i had used a similar one back when i was in the philippines.. we call those condoms I wanted to get one so bad but i couldn't find it anywhere... i saw one website that has it but they would not sell it individual.. i think they do retrofit

if you are saying the very back of the housing, surprisingly NO trimming were done! all my retrofitter did was trim the bracket that hold the stock projectors a little bit to fit in the bigger TSX, that's about all the trimming. and the D2S sockets are almost perfectly line up with stock bulbs positions too. so the back basically looks stock except the D2S plugs were stuck out slightly bit. you know what, i am already jealous on you LS430 bro., can't wait to see the pictures when yours finished. i am already prepared to yank out my TSXs if LS retro can do a perfect job but retain the stock look, that's what i am worry about trimming the stock bezel and don't want to ruin the stock shroud since they look very good!

I use a nokya hyper yellow, and at 2500K color temperature it is pretty close to the lexus fog light. Still cheaper than the capsule. I love Philippines. :

oh, btw, let me know if you are still interesting about the trade of my passenger side SE housing. i'll try to take some pictures of it in these couple days. also on yours, is it already bake apart? and basically you just need the SE bezel? as i said before, the lens has scratch on it.

haha, u told me about that! lol.. Now u got me thinking of putting those "condoms" on my fog lamps (whenever i can find those damn things ugh)
