license plate lighting

it is required to be white, right?

thanks guys.

atm, i have 2 LED's emitting a blue tint on my plate. i think it's illegal.

"f) A taillamp or a separate lamp shall be constructed and
mounted to emit a white light that:
(1) illuminates the rear license plate; and
(2) makes the plate clearly legible at a distance of 50
feet from the rear."

Actually give me until tomorrow night, my best friend is DPS and he will be able to tell me if it is or is not legal in Texas. I know in Missouri it has to be white.

I replaced my license plate bulbs with white led's and i like the way they look. They're bright white, with a hint of blue. Looks identical to the license plate lights you see on the newer lexus's, mbz's and other luxury cars.

I'll snap a pic and post if you'd like.
