License Plates

Ok, i just got my new Illinois personalized plates. I put the back plates on, and then when i when to put the front ones on, there was a problem. they dont fit. the license doesnt match the bracket of my 4runner,
Has anyone had this problem

I just got my truck last month. I didn't want to use the dealership license plate frame to hold my plate, just so I could use the existing anchor points. I just wanted to install my plate with nothering extra.

One of the dealers prep guys got a couple of sheet metal-type screws and mounted the plate on the front bumper for me. The new holes were about 1/2" from the existing holes, but they still went into the same two anchor points as the original holes. I'll take a photo tomorrow if you need to see what it looks like before you make some new holes in your bumper.

Apparently the holes that already in the bumper don't fit US plates. New holes have to be drilled.

There is no bracket - that's why the folks in that other thread can't find a part number.
