Side Discussion: What are the best looking plates (any state) out there. Stand alone or in combination with a certain color etc...

I love the California plates... like this... Looked great on my Prelude.

Since then, I have been to and seen almost every plate, I just like that Cali plate the most... Its simple and understated. most plates try too hard to get a message thru about what the state is about, and I dont care about the corn you grow in Iowa and Nebraska...sorry..

Kinda depends on what car and color car you are putting it on..

when we had a Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible we put this one on.. but for most others it doesnt go..

I have 3 of the standard ones and 2 of the green ones above laying around collecting dust. :trophy:
I wonder if i can sell 'em dirt cheap and whoever buys 'em justs go to DMV and say "i have my own plates, just need new stickers, and update your database". :biggrin2:

Illinois has dozens to choose from! Full List

We have a fixed price for plates - $99/year for your average car/SUV/pickup. "Personalized" (still a mix of letters and numbers, but your choice) adds $7 a year. "Vanity" (letters only, your choice) adds $13 a year. Most of the fancier plates that support a cause have addtional charges on top of that, with the extra charges going to support that cause.

We have at least 200 different types of license plates here in VA. From unions (AFL-CIO, etc.) and colleges to the NRA and Sons of Confederate Veterans, our state DMV will accommodate your desire.
:artist2:

My favorite is the 'scenic' (mountains to sea) plate that is available for a one-time fee of $10. After that, it costs the same as any regular plate to be renewed annually.

You can see all of them here: Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles

P.S. Our state motto in Virginia should be changed to: "Land of 10,000 Taxes" to reflect our two previous governors.

In Illinois, we still haven't figured out how to pay for our previous governor. More taxes are inevitable. :redbrick:
I doubt that the charity he's playing for on The Apprentice is the State of Illinois.

Illinnois license plates

In Illinois we have just come out with an new license plate that reflects our leadership at the top.

Agreed... I hate how license plates have turned into a different kind of bumper sticker. I like the standard Colorado plate with green on white. Some of the other ones look good, but there's just too many of them IMO.

On a side note, has anyone else in CO noticed that there seem to be more a$$hat drivers with the "Respect Life" Columbine plates than any other type of plate? Seems like about 50% of the time that I get cut off, tailgated, or see any other type of aggressive driving, it's by some tool with the "Respect Life" plate.

Ohh, I almost forgot. Go with the standard green plate. I never did care to know or judge others by what the plates look like or say. Besides, why feed Ritter more money to do so?
