Lifespan of new unmounted tires

So I have found a pretty good deal on some 265/70/17 BFG KO2s for $700. They are brand new. I do not need new tires for probably another 2 years. What is the life span of an unmounted tire if it were to sit in a garage for a couple years?

Check the date of manufacture on them, should be stamped on. Look for 4 numbers. The first two are the week number they were made, the next two are the year. The government says 6 years is all they are good for, mounted or not.

I wouldn't buy them if you don't need them. Use that money towards something else you could install now.

700 isn't a good enough deal to sit on them if you don't need.

If it was 500 I would prob buy.

Or use one set during winter months.

I ended up getting them for 675 and got them mounted. Sold my AT3s I was running for $200. So I think I did ok.
