Lift advice

I've decided to halt work on my 03 and begin on my 87. First step is gonna be a lift. Most of it's use is dirt roads and trails to get us to our hunting spots. We do not do anything like the off road parks and such, only what's needed to get us where we need to go. It's done fine for what we need at stock height, but I would like to have a little more clearance. Main concern is price, need something as budget friendly as possible. Any suggestions? I'm not familiar with the limitations in amount of lift and such, so any feedback would be appreciated.

If you're looking for something cheap and effective I would suggest a block lift in the rear and a ball joint lift in the front.

If you're interested, I have a 4" rear lift kit for sale. It's made by Rough Country, it has the blocks, u-bolts, and new shocks w/ all new hardware.
1st gen 4runner/truck lift kit

Then all you need is some ball joint spacers for the front and crank your torsion bars a tad.

How much lift can be gained by adjusting the torsion bars? Also, I have a full set of OEM springs from my 03. Can those be used and if so how much lift would be provided? I need to do some measuring, that 4" rear kit would be nice, assuming I can raise the front enough to keep it level. On the ball joint spacers, what's a good brand to go with (or does it matter)? Thanks guys!

So what exactly do you have to do to mount the 4th gen springs on the 1st gen? Definitely seems like a great option. Thanks!

Cranking the torsion bars adds lift, but you loose flex.

Id skip the coil in the rear if you plan to do any hard wheeling. Look into an Add a leaf or possibly a chevy spring swap.

No plans for hard wheeling. This vehicle is a 100% farm/hunting rig. We use it to pack us and our gear back into the mountains. Trails can get rough, but nothing like what folks encounter when hitting trails to wheel. This sees very little highway driving (less than 50 miles a year). Everything else is dirt roads/trails.

I'll wait for more info from you, I'm not in a big hurry to get it installed. I'll see what it takes to do so and go from there.
