Lift and Tires Ordered Finally!

Finally! After lots of reading and pm-ing, I finally decided on a lift and tires! :boink: BTW, I have a 2000 Limited in millenium silver that is 2wd (I'm sure I'll get some "why lift a 2wd" comments but oh well).

Last night I ordered the Complete OME 3" kit from ToyTec w/ shocks....881s with top plate spacers up front and 890s in the rear. I also ordered a set of Goodyear DuraTracs in 285/75R16 to complement the lift. I will run these on my stock limited 5 spokes.

I am scheduled to have the install done by WabFab Off-Road (vendor on Yotatech) next Saturday the 17th! I can't freakin wait!

I'm also thinking about getting a Rola roof rack, but I am a little concerned about it fitting in the garage and 7 ft parking deck. Does anyone have any input on the total overall height with lift, tires, and roof rack?

Sounds awesome. But....I think those tires may rub a bit with just your suspension lift. You may need a body lift to run those. Someone correct me if I am wrong.....

I went with a Toytec lift also and it has been nothing but good times! I was on the fence about 890's or 891's but am happy I got the 890's. I don't carry enough stuff in the back for 891's. Good call on the tires, two guys here at work have those on a Landcruiser and a Tacoma. They love 'em. Sounds like you're putting an awesome "package" on your ride...congrats!

Oh, and in my opinion you lift a 2wd for the same reasons you would lift a 4wd........

From everything I've read and asked, it seems they may rub in certain situations.....but then again, it seems to be hit or miss with the rubbing with a full 3" lift....some have rubbing and some don't :shrug:. Sounds like with some pinch weld pounding and possibly a little bit of trimming MAY be due, but we will see. Hopefully it will all come together bc I don't particularly want to put a BL on haha. I'm sure some others will chime in.

Yeah I love the way those tires look and they've been highly recommended on here. I was considering going with the Nitto TGs since they're a little cheaper but decided to get exactly what I wanted since I'm already spending a lot of money.

With some minor trimming and .25"-1.25" wheel spacers you shouldn't rub on anything. I didn't rub even before I did the body lift, I put the BL on because I want to run even bigger tires (35s coming soon...)

ok so first of all congreats on finally getting ur things ordered and scheduling the install.
I also have a 2wd and mine is lifted so i say more power to u for not caring wat others think!

I have the 882/891 coils setup with 285/75 BFG ATs and the rola roof rack with lights mounted on top and well i barely fit into the garage. Im not exactly sure on the height of my garage but i think its about 7" tall... ill check for ya tonight but im like 1cm from hitting the top though my tires also only have about 1/3 of the tread left.

I also do not rub at all on full lock down though the tires are REALLY close to the Upper A-arm so i do plan to get some 1.25" wheel spacers...

Yeah man, he's been freakin awesome so far. Really fast to respond to questions and getting things rolling. I wasn't planning on getting this all done so soon (May @ earliest), but he was like I can do it the morning of the 17th. So I jumped on it and can't be happier with the way everything is falling into place. Tires have tracking #s already and Doug @ Toytec told Brian everything will ship tomorrow.
I'm guessing you're going down for the A-day game? arty: This works out perfectly for me bc I was planning on going down there for the weekend anyways.

Yeah I'm not too terribly worried about rubbing much from everything I've read and all the rigs on here with similar setups. We'll see what happens in about 9 days I guess. haha

Yeah I've been tossing the locker idea around a lot lately since I'll have some decent tires and some clearance. BUT the wifey might not be too fond of the idea of spending even more money. :happens:

My garage is 7' I think and I KNOW my parking deck at work is 7' or at least that's what it says. I know it'll be close, but I guess we'll see what happens

I ordered them from Discount Tire bc it was free shipping. I paid $877.44 OTD for 4 with valve stems. I decided to skip on the road hazard certs though (with them it would have been just shy of a grand). The OTD price had actually dropped almost $20 from when I looked at them yesterday afternoon til I ordered them last night. I believe they are $214 per tire now. Tire Rack sells them for $199 but you have to pay shipping too....which made it come out to $920 without certs or valve stems (i think). And I checked a few other places that I don't remember right now, and Discount was the best I could find OTD. Plus I've heard pretty much all good things about people that have dealt with Discount, so that was a factor too.

On a side note, I placed my order last night around 9 and had tracking numbers this morning. They will be here Monday. :wow: Can't wait to see them in person!

I just ordered some from a goodyear store through a Goodyear National Account for $213 a tire, this is 2 days after the same dealer quoted me $247 a tire lol
