Lift before and after.

So I still need tires, rims, locker and fromt bumper but so far progress ahs just gone exponentially in last few weeks with lift rock sliders and roof rack. the lift is Sonoran Steel 1.2 rear and All-Pro UCA's and Bilstein coil overs up front. Went straight from install of lift to an off-road jamboree and it worked great.

total inches of lift Front 2.5 over 99 height and rear 3.5-4 over 99 rear so on a 98 that is about 3.5 front and 4.5 rear. Sonoran Steels website has good information on lifts and the fact that a 99 runner sat 1" higher then all other years from the factory.

265/70/ 16 or 31 equiv. I am looking to run some 33" or 285/75 but will go with a regear if I do. So my hopes right now are to find a set of rims and tires used on craigs or ebay. Since i cant afford the regear or lockers right now and will just change out for when I go off roading.

I'm running 33's here without a re-gear and doing fine, cruise at highway speeds and go up hills just fine. From what I've read you don't start having gearing issues until you step up to 35s.

according to my build tag I have the 3.91 gears so a regear is more then likely to be necesary but might get the tires before the regear simply because I am jonesing for some better tires and figure get the size I want. I wheel it as often as I can and the All Season tires are not cutting it as well as I would like

I don't think the '99s are a full 1" higher than '98s. Maybe a half inch at most.

The taller coils (which aren't on all '99s) are 1" taller when the coils are measured side by side (to the earlier years) off of the truck and are probably a true inch taller when new but when you are comparing a '99 equipped with the taller coils to other years factors like age and miles come into play so yes,some of those taller coils might only be a .5" taller.

I know a lot of people on this site consider Steve at Sonoran Steel to be the Guru of 3rd gens. and his words every time i was talking to him was that the lift is 3.5 over 99 or 4.5 over other years... also a thread on his sight talks about this but yes it is mainly the coil hieght. I do know it was a little larger lift then i had thought it would be and on my 98 with sliders and custom rear bumper it was almost 4.5 in hte rear..
