Lift for 98 Limited??

Ok so Im a newbie needing some help from you guys who have been there/done that. I want to lift a 98 4Runner Limited. I have read on Sonoran Steele website that a spacer lift will damage the drivetrain etc and wanted your take on revtek lifts..I am not a die hard rock crawler but get her dirty and climb hills etc so what do you guys reccomend. Also thinking about 285's on stock rims..any thoughts are WELL appreciated..Thanks guys

Spacer lift = revtek lift. It's inexpensive and gets you some height, but doesn't increase travel and degrades your suspensions performance. It's not hard on the drivetrain (cv joints) if you get the Differental drop spacers (which you should do with any lift options for our rigs).

I would personally save up and get a full coil / shock lift like the ones on sonoran steel. I have a OME (old man emu) coils and shocks on my 99 and it is fine. Stiffer than stock, got about 2 - 2.5 inches of lift, and cost around $700.

I agree with Greedy. I'd do it right the first time. Look into Soronan Steel 7.1 kit.

285s will work with the lift and stock wheels. Is your truck a daily driver? What tires did you have in mind?

I'm partial to the Nittos on my DD since they are very well mannered at highway speeds in the rain and good control on snow and ice and the price is right.

This will be my daily driver but since I don't drive a whole lot, I'm not worried about noise, gas mileage, etc. I am thinking about 285/75/16 ProCompX's..they look decent and more importantly have gotten decent reviews as a true Xterrain tire..also the price is right vs. BFGs, and Goodyear (buy 3 get 1 free)!?!

i like the pro comp xterrain. they arent as loud as bfg. they are pretty smooth and soft. they balanced out pretty well on my 18" wheels, not much wieght was needed.
