lift for my '02 T4R Sport

hey guys. i'm new to the site and this is my first post. but i'm looking to lift my '02 T4R Sport that i just got last month. i don't plan on doing much offroading except for small trails for deer hunting. but i'm just looking for a cheaper way to lift my T4R and still keep a smooth ride. any suggestions would be great. thanks!

Great looking runner! I really wanted a sport but they were out of my price range. Well the cheap way to lift it which is a spacer which will not ride smooth. If I where you I would look into Old Man Emu lift which would be smoother than a spacer. Good luck man

Spacers in front like 2" will keep the stock feel but will ware your coils quicker as for the back just get new springs like 906 old man emu or 890 for level/rake.

Might also think of new shocks while changing suspension wich is a common thing to do with 120+k miles. But if you can tell they aren't worn you'll still be able to use the stock shocks for a short period of time but your shock travel will dimenish and certain bumps won't feel the same.

Budget?

well i don't mind spending a few hundred dollars. and i don't have to worry about worn out shocks yet. my T4R only has 70K miles on it so i should have right much more wear on those. but i'm just wanting to put a 2"-3" lift on it. also, i have stock tires on my T4R and wanted to know what size tire i could jump to with a 2"-3" lift. thanks for yalls suggestions.

You have to first ask yourself, "do you like the way it rides stock?" If you are satisfied with its stock ride and you just want a small lift, do not buy OME.

I did just the same exact thing with our 02 sport 6 months ago. I spent $700 for a set of OME springs/shocks/installation etc and it rode just like an old go-cart, it was super stiff (and we bought the "comfort" set-up) bone jarring over every little bump.

We kept it that way for a week and then bought some 99 coils and Trekmaster shocks and took out the OME. (99 coils are slightly taller than 02's)
It now rides MUCH better and other than a 1.5 rear spacer to correct the dreaded Toyota rear sag, I will not change it until I go to a Sonoran Steel 7.2 kit.

If you are going to run front and rear aftermarket bumpers then OME is the lift for you, but my "personal" preference was more of a factory stock ride without the stiffness.

I followed what a lot of other members here did and it worked out awesome for the height and price! I spent $350 for the full suspension parts and you can probably do it cheaper if you have the patience to search around. Rockdawg84, Duhockey, cj80cruiser, 99yota4 and Mauzer are some good resources. save your money and do it right the first time. get new shocks and springs front and rear and get it all aligned.
The good stuff isnt cheap, and the cheap stuff isnt good.
