Lift Help

Well about a year ago my parents decided to help me in buying a used 4th gen 4runner. I have always wanted a 4runner. When I came home from college they already picked a 2003 Limited 4runner with 120,000 miles, however it is 2wd and has XREAS AND the ugly 18' Enkei rims. I am not blaming them for anything they helped me out a lot with this car, but I was hoping to be able to mod a 4wd 4runner and have some fun offroad. Over the year I kept debating on wether or not to even try to put a lift on, like a Daystar or a Cornfed 2/1. If anyone can help with any advice on what lift would be best or would you just not even bother lifting this?

why not lift it? what you choose to use to lift it comes down to personal preference, budget, and what you plan to use it for (rocks, high speed, mall crawling). once you know those you can figure out what direction to go. as far as being 2wd, that doesnt mean much. alot of the guys that wheel hard will tell you that 2wd isnt a disadvantage, as much as it just means that you need to think a little more, and work through obstacles with your head, and not the skinny pedal. best of luck and happy travels
