lift is now installed. New and improved w/ pics!!!

I purchased the 3" toytec lift and installed it this weekend. The stock struts did not like having 3 inches of spacer in there, i should have just ordered the new front springs in retrospect. I took it with the local samarai off road club for a day run and the truck performed great.
now im just waiting for my tires and ill have pics posted. I found a set of BFG mudders, 285/75-16's for $120.00 with only maybe 2000 miles on them!

if you do it i recomend zip tying or using tie wire to keep the coils compressed on the front while the springs are compressed. then after the coils are bolted back in very carefully cut the ties. rear was nice and easy.

ill go take some pics.

weird, i guess there is a ghost in my garage. thats cool.

Yeah, some pics....

It sits really stout now, don't you think. When you get your tires it will really be tough looking. (and actually tough, too):cannon:

What size tires are on there right now? I'm about to buy new kumho kl71 265x75r16's for my non lifted '97 4-runner...im wanting a 2" lift, but don't want to make it look goofy with new small tires on there. I think it should be ok, if anything I'll just go about an extra inch lift, just depends.

Anyways, just wondering what size you have on there? 265x70's?

Thanks,

Thanks,

yup, running 265/70-16.

doesnt look bad, i just want a more aggressive tread and another inch or so of clearance under the drivetrain.

Its stinkbugging, ass up. haha.
i believe its because i used a 3 in spacer up front and the 01-02 runners have shorter stock springs. the rear on the other hand has the 890 ome springs.

What does the diff drop do? How is it different from the just the regular 3" lift from Toytec?

EDIT: Nevermind, just read the FAQ on Toytec's website :bash:

yeah, well see. i might have to do a lil trimming. once the tires are on im gonna go flex it out at a local spot they did a crawling show at.
im stoked to see what she has.

i think the next mod for me is longer rear brake lines. getting near max.
