I have a mild lift on my 4Runner. Well, let me rephrase that: I have most of the pieces for a mild lift on my 4Runner, some of which are currently installed.
Here are the parts I have gathered to lift the front of my 4Runner. With installation of these parts in addition to torsion bar adjustment I should see 2" of front end lift.
- Toyotec 1.5" ball joint spacers
- Fat Bob's 1" sway bar drop bracket (helps to realign the sway bar for best performance)
- Fat Bob's 1" differential drop kit (helps to keep the CV axles at a safe operating angle)
- Pro Comp ES3000 shocks (extended length for a 2" lift)
For the rear suspension I got a set of OME springs and longer shocks. I planned on installing those parts first, assessing my ride height and adding the appropriate coil spring spacer on top of that. Naturally, any rear suspension increase of more than 2" should be accompanied by longer brake lines (or detaching the mount on the frame so they can dangle a little lower, but triple check that they do not become tight under articulation or get in the way of moving parts), a panhard bar drop bracket, extended length end-links for the sway bar (if you continue to use it), and a LSPV drop bracket if your vehicle is equipped.
So far on the rear I have installed:
- Old Man EMU series 900 1.5" lift coils (mine netted 2.5" over the stock sagging springs)
- Pro Comp ES3000 shocks (extended length for 3-4" lift)
I am planning to install a panhard drop bracket, LSPV drop bracket, extended brake lines, extended sway bar end links (that are quick disconnect) and most likely a 1.5" coil spacer. I like the rear end up a bit higher than the front, especially with the rear overhang the 4Runner has and knowing it will be loaded up with tools or camping gear at times.
Here is the 4Runner with only the OME springs installed (the front ride height is unchanged). I like this stance and feel that raising the front 2" and the rear by an additional 1.5" will be perfect.
