lift kits

well this is my first post. so here it goes. I have just purchased a 1999 4 runner limited, I was just wondering what kind of lift were made for it, cause I haven't been able to find any info except for the coil spacers. Also dont want to straight axel it. so am looking for some good advice and if u could direct me in the right direction that would be great.

OME makes a suspension lift for 3rd gens.

There are also a variety of body lifts and coil spacers like you've seen.

the OME kit you can find at www.sleeoffroad.com for around 650$. I would recommend AGAINST body lifts (because they dont do anything except allow you to fit a larger tire, no actual clearance is added, and your frame is going to hang really low and be an eyesore. spacers you can get from daystar, but again, would recommend AGAINST using spacers, as they will make your ride stiff, and not allow for any increased articulation. the best "bang for your buck" is the OME kit, I have had it on my truck for 35k and absolutley love it, it handles great on the road, makes a cool noise over bumps (sounds like gas escaping - normal noise) and i have taken it almost anywhere and have seen that it fits the needs of a daily driver/weekend warrior. let us know what you think, i have pics i can supply to help you decide

i will have to check the ome lift out do they make ones that are bigger and are they worth it if they do, and pics would be cool to see so i can decide if i want to do it or not. thanks for all the help.

no for the 4runner all you get is 2.5". that is the best amount of lift though as it doesnt look stupidly large for an suv and you dont have to replace anything, not even your brake lines, which is nice. very nice equipment also.

those are some sweet pics of ur 4 runner. i was looking at toyotech and i found the exact same thing there, and it was cheaper. i was just wondering if u have heard if they are good lifts or not.

i wa thinking of doing a 3 in lift. would i be able to get 35's under there or is that too big.

those are really expencive how do they do after acouple years pf abuse and is the extra 1 1/2in going to make it look funny

35" tires on a 4runner is going to be impossible without dual transfer cases new gears and a 1" body lift and some major body trimming with a 2.5" lift, also the stock axles wont hold up if you floor it or abuse them at all... basically, as long as you dont "try" to break the stock axle, you shouldnt....

if i were just coming from a ricer, i would just throw the OME lift on it and some 33"s and be done with it, easiest and best thing to do, that way you dont need to replace anything and it looks good, but if you can find it cheaper then go for it... but 35s arent easy to do...
