lift on a 97' 2wd runner

i got a 97 2wd 4runner and thinking about a lift...
what are the pros and cons?
and what is the recommended lift?
and pics of 2wd lifts are welcome

The lifts are the same for 2wds and 4wds, the only difference is a 3" lift might end up being a 3.5 or 4" lift on a 2wd.

How much lift are looking for, what for, and what kind of budget? That will help some w/ what to recommend.
I lifted my 2000 2wd w/ the OME complete kit w/ shocks from ToyTec Lifts. I went with the 881s + top plate spacer in front and 890s in the rear. I love the way it looks bc it is nice and level. The ride is definitely stiffer but not too bad. I went from 33 1/2" in the front and 34 1/4" in the back (ground to fender measurements) to just shy of 39" after lift all around.

Did you have to drop the diff? Also, what size tire were you able to fit once you lifted without rubbing?

#2. This thread is discussing lifting 2wd, sooo they wouldnt have to drop the diff since they don't have one.

I believe the poster said they got the complete set up from Toy Tec Lifts. That lift is approaching the higher end of lifting the 3rd gen. Do some reading and see if that is something you want or need. There are some inherent problems that can arise from lifting too much.
