Finally, ordered my cornfed lift yesterday. I know this is like the bazillionth time someone has posted about their new lift. But I figured I would just follow suit, so expect pics once the kit arrives and I get it installed. By the way, about how long did it take ya'll to recieve your lift kits from Jason Burtman?

my lift arrived from jason in about 2 weeks.

make sure you are careful with your tire sensor wires. the guys who installed mine bagged the right rear tire sensor wire. this was a $340 dollar mistake. good luck!

thanks for the warning. I plan on being very careful. Man, two weeks seems like forever though. Has anyone else had any problems that I should be looking out for?

Undoing the top nut closest to the engine is a bit of a bear. Get a flat closed ratchet socket to handle this one. Using an open ender will take for ever and a normal socket won't fit too well because the inner fender panel gets in the way.

is there any way to get the instructions ahead of time, so I can look them over and start borrowing all the tools?

Tools:
10/12/14/17/19 mm sockets (deep pref).
extension for the socket to the rachet

also wrench (open and closed ends) for the same socket sizes.

Coil compressor (autozone - rent free w/ c/c dep)
some new cotter pins (just get the assorted sized one $4.99 or so)
tie rod puller (also at autozone - rent free w/ c/c dep).
pliers to pull cotter pin

as for the autozone, if you don't have one nearby i'm sure other auto shops will have free rentals (usually).

I'd recommend a ratcheting end wrench for those nuts.

ok so Jason's website says 7-10 business days before the lift ships... and cornfed's site says that they are open monday through saturday...so does that mean that I can count saturday as a business day?

Mon-Fri. Will email you the UPS tracking when it ships. The 2003-2006 Lift kit is still on sale as we speak. After July 1st, price is going up.

I know that there are other posts which sing the praises of Jason Burtman, but I just wanted to tag on and say that while I have not actually recieved my lift yet, Jason really did care about me as a customer. If more companies followed his customer service model, this world would be a better place. As soon as I install the lift, pics will be posted.

No I haven't had any spare time. I have to wait till next weekend and when my dad is coming into town and we are going to make it into a father-son project at the auto skills center on base.

Finally

Ok so my dad came into town this weekend and I decided that if I didn't get the lift put on now, it might never get done. I volunteered a good friend of mine who happens to be a crack mechanic and we went to work. Total time for finish was 4 hours and 12 minutes. Not too bad in my opinion. The hardest thing we had to do was align the bolts and the shock tube. Other than that it was pretty easy. Of course I took a few pics as you can see below. Oh and one more word of praise for Cornfed who answered their cell phones on a Saturday morning to help us with a few quick questions. Hope ya'll like it, I know I do. This first pic is from before the lift. The second is after. More pics will be on the way soon. Just wanted to get this up online.

I can tell the difference. Your T4R look taller. Do you have picture which lighter the gap of the the wheel well?

I am so tempting to order the lift now. Mine only 3 days old. I want to wait for couple months to see how the 4runner drive and to see if any issue arise.
