Lift Question

So I'm looking to install either a Toyotec or Daystar comfort ride leveling kit for my 2010 4Runner SR5. Went to this place called Trick Trucks. They stated that there may be an issue with the install when taking the control arms off. They said something about if there is no anti-seize on it and its rusted, then it will cost roughly 400-500 to replace each one on all four sides. Has anyone else heard this or dealt with this before?

You really don't need to take the arms off. Only if you are replacing them.

Try another shop.

Trick Trucks pulled one over on me 10 years ago....I see they haven't changed their ways.

You don't need to take the arms off, but you do need to turn the adjustment cams to align the vehicle. Yes it is common for alignment cams to seize. It could be as simple as hitting them with an air hammer to cutting them out and replacing the control arms and cams.

Awesome.. thanks for the info. Yeah. I heard good and bad things about Trick Trucks. The price was pretty fair but the only thing I wasn't sure about was the control arms. They said that it's been common with Toyotas that they had to replace them and I just never heard of that while I was doing my research.

Take your truck to Hi Tech up near Chantilly. It will be worth the drive.
