I'm new here, kind of. I've actually been on here for quite a while getting answers to my questions since I bought my 4runner in November '09, but I've enjoyed this forum so much I just decided to join so hopefully I can make the same helpful contributions as the rest of you.
(I dont have any pictures of it right now, but I'll definitely be putting them up here soon.) But I have an all black '98 Limited Edition 4WD with the rear locker. I bought it with 107k miles but have put on quite a bit I have been going up to school in Idaho and the thing is a champ on the some of the trails around there and handles like a champ through the sand. I try to do everything on my own or at least with the help of someone that knows what they're doing. I dont like having to take it to a shop to get work done. Since I bought it I've replaced the timing belt and water pump, a fuel injector that went bad, and some other random mild maintenance projects. For fun I put in two 10" Alpine Type R subs in the back with a 4000w amp juicing them up. It hits perfect for me.
Sorry if this question has been asked a thousand times on here, but I just wanna be sure. But anyways, for my next project I really want to put in one of those 2.5" spacer lift kits. I plan on doing it myself with possibly the help of my brother. I like the looks of them and it's really all I need for the type of driving I do, plus it's nice because I don't need to extend any of my drive shafts or replace any springs with it. But my question is, do I need to install a diff drop with this kind of a lift? What kind of spacer kit is best to go with? Or would any of you think that the spacer kit is a bad choice?
