Lift Questions

I was just wondering if I could get some advise about lifting my 04 Runner. I was looking at the cornfed lift and was wondering if anyone had installed it and noticed any decrease in performance or mpg? It might seem a little dorky but I am still young and money is tight. Also how does the lift affect the ride? Does it make it more stiff? Thanks for the help.

I followed that link, but didn't find anything about a difference in mpg...

MPG won't be affected by lift but it will be affected by tire size. And even then if you install new gears you can keep it pretty close to stock mog.

ok well, I am convinced. I already put 265/75's on, so I just want to give my runner a little more height. Now all I have to do is convince my wife. Anyone have any good excuses to get a lift?

It allows you to see farther ahead into traffic, which obviously, can only keep you safer.

if you were to hit a deer or small car you would probably ride over it instead of smash through it which would keep you were safer....

This is what I would tell my wife (Standing tall in a commanding manner ):

"Honey, the global weather system has been showing some irregular trends and many catastrophic events may occur. We need to prepare to leave town at any given time. The 4runner must be fast and be able to go over obstacles such as water, road debris, or no road at all! It is crutial that "we" get this done". (Notice how I said "we" - This makes her feel like she's part of this process, make her feel like it was a conserted effort - women like stuff like that).

It took me years to think of bs like this.

I hope this works... Let me know if it does, then I'll try it with my wife.

Screw it... I'm just going to order the cornfed 3" lift and let the storm hit me.
