You don't need a lift to clear those tires and rims.

What size lift are you thinking about?

I'm assuming you have a 4WD. If you do you will probably want a diff drop if you go about 2.5"-3".

Check out Sonoran Steel for a lot of information on lifts. Their lifts are high quality.

yeah i checked them out, they make really nice stuff. just unsure what to do, its my daily driver and dont wanna out 200 dollar cv axles in it every 6 months or have vibration problems

well i am thrilled this thread got started...
by what i have read the thread starter does not have a lift yet and is inquiring about what lift to go with and does not want the spacer lift...
so he does not yet need a diff drop
but rather needs others input on other types of lifts as he wld like to have the ability to go off road... as i wld too
i have a 2000 limited V6 4wd and wld like to lift it rather mildly (off-road capability but highway performance/ride) to about 2.5" front with a 3" back
want your feedback b/c the lift suspension sales and sites are gonna tell me what i wanna hear and i know you will tell me what you know or have heard
thanks in advance

Exactly. That's why I asked him what size he wanted to go with. I was suggesting a diff drop if he decides to get a lift in that range or higher.

There are so many options when it comes to 3 inch and under lifts for our runners. I chose the sway away coil overs in the front because I live in so cal and like driving fast in the deserts, but the ome lifts are also good choices. So many companies offer lifts it just depends on how much you want to spend and how you want it to ride. And a diff drop is a good idea. I got mine from toytec lifts for 25 bucks

Not trying to hijack anything :D
but is there an inch or 2 of coils lift other than the performance products coils? those got discontinued

Im looking to lift it 3 inches, but from what i herd if you go over 2 inches on a 99 you will run into cv axle issues, and i understand the diff drop will help just herd some peopel talk about the diff drop causing vibration in the front drive shaft for the 4x4. i see most people rec the ome stuff i just dont weanna spend a ton of money on a lift, thanks guys

If you want a quality lift that will help you offroad and that's not a spacer lift, you may as well get used to the idea that you are going to be spending some money. Honestly I think you need to go to www.toyteclifts.com and get a hold of those guys. Tell them what you want to do and what you want out of a lift and they will point you in the right direction.

The lift I have is the Old Man Emu springs 881s in front w/ toytec topout spacer and 890s in the rear. It was overall about 2.5" of lift. I also bought the diff drop and I have no front end vibration and have had no cv problems.

I have a 3" ome spring and shock lift on my tr4. I have the stiff springs in the front and they are not to bad of a ride, i would go with the softer ones if your tires are not going to be too drastic. I purchased my lift and most every thing else that had to do with my lift from toytec, good people

coil spacer lifts descent

i've had a coil spacer lift on my 99 for 3 years new and have gone thru 2 cv axles(boot had broke). when i replaced mine i went with new ones with heavy duty boots. since then i haven't had any problems. oh and at 60 it doesn't necessarily vibrate, but rides more like a truck. i've been off road more than a few times as well, nothing extreme, but i haven't had any problems. coil suspensions are my favorite but i couldn't complain at the price. i can say, it was worth it
