Lift void warranty?

Hey guys if I installed my Lift kit on the new 4Runner will that void my Factory warranty? What if I purchased an extended warranty for 100K will that be voided as well?

To anwser your question, No. But, if anything fails because of the lift it would not be covered by the warranty.

Well he probably thinks that since Toyotas are built rock solid and very reliable its a waste to buy an extended warranty. There is some validity to that kind of thinking, but I figure the money I spent on my 7yr/100K warranty is "insuarance" that nothing will need fixing. I don't drive many miles a year, so I think of it as an extra 4 years of coverage over the standard 3yr/36k warranty.

The 4Runner is my only vehicle, so the every coverage is worth it to me. Some people may disagree...

My experience with extended warranties is that they don't ever seem to cover the parts that are most likely to need replacement. They would not offer it to you if they were not making money on the deal.

The same can be said about any type of insurance.

Some extended warranties are BS, but just like anything else you have to know what you are buying. Because I bought a fully loaded Limited that I will keep for a long time, I found that an extended warranty is cheap insurance for allot of very expensive systems and components.

I'd never buy a 3rd party warranty. That site seems like an advertisement for those two companies, a bit corrupt.


I'd only get a Toyota warranty. Toyota is not going bankrupt. I've seen those 3rd party companies come and go.


Another option is to buy a warranty through your insurance. Geico offers one. You pay as you go.

I did not feel I needed one with the 4Runner. Members with 03s and 04s have not any problems. Toyota makes reliable vehicles.
