Lifted rear shocks

So I have pretty much decided to just keep the 2.5 spacer lift that I have so my question is...if I replace the rear shocks will the ride be a little better and will I have more flex in the rear? I just think my stock shocks are almost over extended

yeah, if you are running stock shocks with any lift you are over extended...

I think Rancho makes a good rear shock for a decent price.

yeah, but Ranchos are not usually cheap.

the best shocks that I have heard of that are cheap are the Procomps es9000 like I have, I think I paid 35$ each...

and I have heard the Skyjackers were pretty comparable to the procomps in quality and pricing, I think Elton used to run skyjacker (correct me if I remembered incorrectly)

Ok thanks I'm gonna check out both of those but the procomps are in my price range

land cruiser tokico trekmasters. I paid about $70 for the pair. You may end up with springs falling out. Your shocks are basically all that hold the springs in there

I'm confused with the land cruiser shocks my springs might fall out?

you will not get any better flex with just putting spacers in, because you are not gaining any suspension travel, as your using your stock length coils, but to answer your question, anytime you increase your spring length you should always do the whole job and do shocks!

Bilstein's are great shocks (come on the TRD equipted Tacomas)
Tokico's are another great choice (came on Toyota's)
Old Man Emu's Good shock choice (ARB made)

These should have enough travel, and seem to be reasonably priced. From what I've read, Wheeler's seems to be a great shop to do business with, as well.

Its really simple. THe only thing that limits the rear axle in 4runners is the shock length. Land cruiser shocks are about 3 inches longer than extended length 4runner shocks (OME). this will allow a tire to droop way down. TRUST ME I HAVE HAD TO CHASE A SPRING DOWN A HILL>>>>

OMe 891 springs a few trim packers, links and trekmasters.....

THINK OF THE SHOCKS AS LIMITING STRAPS FOR OUR TRUCKS

Lol that kinda scares mei don't want to lose a spring

To a certain extent the Panhard also restricts the droop. J$$ do you have an extension for your panhard?

well i guess your right, but that point is where the suspension will bind up. You just cannot reach that point.

And My panhard bar is stock. Longer designs cause serious problems. I made one 3/4" longer and it causes some serious driveshaft/gas tank interference when you flex the truck, And i mean serious problems I had the entire driveshaft rubbing the tank and skid. The weights on the driveshaft put dents in my gas tank lol! and i sheared off my zirk fittings

Yeah, I said extension, I meant panhard drop... Like you said the extensions cause tons of problems cuz it throws off your geometry. I meant a panhard drop, thats what I have that Ill be putting on soon. that way, you keep the stock geometry that toyota intended...
