lifting & tires advice pls!

hi, I just ordered my Cornfed Spacer Lift kit 3" front, 2" rear yesterday and did some search about what's the tires size it will fit after the lift.

I may either go with MTR or BFG AT KO. Can you tell me if this is correct that I can fit in the 275/70/17 tires w/o any rubbing and trimming?

Yes, the 275's will fit with no or minimal rubbing.

Mine (MTR's) did not rub with the Daystar spacer lift (2.5" max) except on the "triangles" when I reversed. This was not a problem and did not require triming. It never rubbed in max offroading or on road.

I have read that one or two people have had rubbing issues requiring trimming the triangles, but I believe thgis is related to alignment settings.

Expat is correct about the alignment setting. If you set the alignment correctly, it won't rub at all, in most cases.

I have 285/70/17s and the only problem I had was a little rubbing on the inside corner of the mud flap. I just removed it and it actually looks better, I think.

Then again even though the tire sizes are the same, each manufacturer differ a bit.

The Revos will rub a little less due to its concave profile at the shoulder. The T/A KOs and the Terragraplers have a wider profile at the shoulders for being ATs. If you get MTs, you need a lot more room to clear the shoulder treads.

Bottom line... Just get the tire and the size you want and start trimming away. It's only hard the first cut... after that, it's FUN!

btw, I suggest you get the alignment done after the lift AND tires. If you get the alignment first and get the big tire later... then you might have to get the alignment done again to clear the bigger tire. Or do what I did, and get a lifetime alignment at Firestone or something. Make friends with the manager

I like the MTRs. Just not the best thing for snow and ice. I plan to go with 265/70/17 Revos LTs. The LTs are heavier, more plys, higher load, and more tread depth than the 265/70/17 P Revos.

BFG KOs would be my 2nd choice.

I noticed that there was an LT verstion on the 265/70/17. The difference between the two seem to be, load rating (side wall strength), plys, but didn't know that it had more tread depth.

265/70/17 P are 13/32" 43 lbs

285/70/17 are 11/32" 43 lbs

I want to get the Revo too but they don't have the size I want (275/70/17). I want to see how's the different between P & LT, I try to find some pics but no luck! I can see they are more expensive though.

Fresh Cornfed on 285/70r17

Here's mine running 285/70r17's on the cornfed lift

I heated and re-shaped the black molding infront of the tires that had minimal rubbing. Then sliced the mudflaps with an utility knife on the inner edges. It took all of 20 minutes.

I do have rubbing on the inside a-arm i think it's called or triangle, but only at full lock
